Blessing for the nations

 

He took him outside and said: “Look up at the sky and count the stars, if you can. Just so,” he added, “will your descendants be.” Genesis 15:5

 

Today we began a new sermon series on Abraham begining with Genesis 12.1-3 and God's plan to bless all the nations.

 

Today I thought it would be interesting to see which nations were represented in church today. 

 

We come up with Australia, Brazil, India, Canada, Kenya, the US, St Lucia, Ireland, Uganda, Nigeria, Tanzania, Italy, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, England, the Channel Islands, Ghana, Hungary and France just for starters.

 

The plan was being worked out before our eyes.

 

After the sermon it was moving to sing:

 

Your're the author of creation, 

you're the Lord of every man; 

And your cry of love rings out across the lands

 

and then:

 

From each tribe and tongue and nation you are leading sinners home.'
