It's always a special moment for us at St James where our Year 6 leavers come to church for their Leavers Service.
This has been a year of Covid curtailled activity but it was good to have an in-person service in church even if it could only be for the 70 leaving children (and their teachers), and not the whole school gathered to say goodbye and to pray for them as the left for their new schools.They shared their memories of their time at St James, Jacob spoke from Colossians (So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness), each of them was presented with a copy of the Bible 'the most valuable thing that the world affords ' and, in the words of this video (which we played), we prayed for God's blessing on them:
