All the children, and lots of new teachers, poured into the church first thing this morning for our beginning of term service.
We sung some old favourites.
There's something quite wonderful about the whole school singing 'Jesus love is wonderful' with the actions.
Mrs Willis announced the new head boy and head girl and their deputies.
We welcomed the new members of staff, and with the help of a lamp borrowed from the vicarage living room, I spoke on the verse: 'No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl; instead it is put on the lampstand, where it gives light for everyone in the house. In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.'
