Running the race

Congratulations to brother and sister, Sam and Rachel, admitted to communion today, the second Sunday of Easter, at St Anne's , having successfully completed the admission to communion course for children and young people in year 5 and above.


It seems only the other day - but actually it was in June 2013 - that I had the great joy of baptising this lovely pair by immersion in a pool in St James's Churchyard.

Every blessing to Sam and Rachel, as they take this next step of faith. On this Marathon Sunday may they keep running the race, running 'straight towards the goal in order to win the prize, which is God's call through Christ Jesus to the life above.' (Philipppians 3.14)

Out on Jamaica Road more than 40,000 runners were taking part in the London Marathon itself, with hundreds of thousands of spectators lining the route. Here is the view from Jamaica Rd  with St James's in the background:
